About Us

Denise Gage, MA, CCC/SLP, LSLS, Cert AVT
Director, Owner Speech Enterprises, Inc.
Denise Gage, CCC-SLP, LSLS Cert. AVT, is a certified speech-language pathologist and a certified auditory-verbal therapist. Her private practice was established in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 1986. She was one of the first group of certified auditory verbal therapists in 1994, providing her with 25 years experience training infants, children and adults with hearing impairments and cochlear implants.

Ms. Gage received her Bachelor of Science degree in speech and hearing science from Bradley University in Peoria Illinois. She earned her Master of Arts degree in speech language pathology at the University of Texas at Austin. During her graduate training she was fortunate to participate in a grant program that allowed her to gain additional training working with deaf and hard of hearing children.

Ms. Gage believes that a private practice setting best allows for family participation in the treatment process. It allows her the freedom to formulate appropriate treatment goals without restriction. Every patient is encouraged to have a family member sit in or observe sessions. Observing and/or participating in sessions is an invaluable tool for facilitating carry – over from the therapy session to real life settings.
She believes strongly that every family should be informed of the educational options available to hearing impaired children; and further that each family has the right to choose the option that they feel is appropriate for their family and or child. It is her personal bias that an auditory verbal approach be the first option. She feels that parental involvement is critical to the success of any program and insists on parent participation in therapy sessions.

Testimonials
I cannot begin to explain how fortunate I am to have found to Denise Gage for help after having been implanted with a Cochlear Implant. I was not progressing (learning to hear and understand and I had become very frustrated). I asked my Doctor at UTSW if there were providers that I could work with to help. Denise has turned out to be an amazing provider, mentor and has helped me more than I thought possible. Very patient and knowledgeable, always has my best interest in mind. EXCEPTIONAL !!
Denise came highly recommended by our pediatrician when our 4 year old daughter was struggling to communicate. Denise was very informative during the diagnosis process and provided numerous resources on Apraxia of Speech. We have been working with her for 6 months and our daughter has shown drastic improvement. Denise is patient, focused, kind, sensitive, realistic, and persistent. Most importantly our child loves her and is confident in her improving speech abilities.
Denise has been a very valued Auditory Verbal Therapist in my son's post cochlear implant rehab. We had a hard time finding someone for these services and was very blessed to find Denise to add to our team. Denise was very persistent and stern (in a loving way) with my son to keep him focused and on track with articulation, word parts, and auditory processing. I highly recommend Denise for speech therapy and/or AVT services.
